1. Information We Collect

To coordinate missing and found person matches effectively, FindMe collects information that is voluntarily submitted by users:

  • Missing Person Profiles: Name, age, gender, photographs, last seen coordinates, dates, and medical/demographic descriptions.
  • Found Person Reports: Estimated age, gender, photographs, found coordinates, dates, and physical descriptions.
  • Contact and Account Information: Email addresses, reporter names, phone numbers, and location settings for search radius alerts.

2. S3 Storage & AWS Rekognition

FindMe processes photographic uploads to analyze facial landmarks using AWS Rekognition:

  • All images are securely uploaded to AWS S3 storage under strict access controls.
  • AWS Rekognition extracts facial signatures (face IDs) to generate automated match confidence scores.
  • FindMe does not build permanent biometric databases or sell facial analysis details to third parties. Data is processed strictly for the purpose of matching missing persons with reports.

3. Your Right to Take Down Reports

We believe that users must have complete ownership over the data they submit. At any time, the individual who submitted a report (or a verified system Administrator) can permanently take down/delete the filing from their Profile dashboard.

Once a report is deleted, all corresponding S3 image keys, database logs, and potential match comparisons are permanently scrubbed and cannot be retrieved.

4. Data Sharing and Emergency Situations

FindMe is a public coordinator directory. Profile details and descriptions are visible to the public to assist in coordinate searches. Sighting logs and contact options are designed to facilitate communication.

WARNING: FindMe is not a replacement for local law enforcement. In critical or emergency situations, please contact local emergency services immediately before posting reports.
